Basilica of Saint Mary in Cosmedin -Basílica de Santa María in Cosmedin

The Basilica of Saint Mary in Cosmedin is a minor church in Rome. The church was built in the 8th century during the Byzantine Papacy, over the remains of a temple that served as a place for food distribution in ancient Rome. This church, like most others in Rome, requires modest clothing in order to allow you to come inside. Women are not allowed to show to show their shoulders and knees because it is considered disrespectful. Probably my favorite thing about this church was the Bocca della Verita (The Mouth of Truth) which is located in the hallway outside the church. According to an old legend, if you place your hand in the mouth and tell a like, your hand might get chopped off. I loved visiting this place because it made me think about how paganism and Christianity blended together throughout the passage of the time.

La Basílica de Santa María in Cosmedin es una iglesia menor Roma. La iglesia fue construida en el siglo octavo durante el papado bizantino, sobre los restos de un templo que sirvió como un lugar de distribución de comida en la antigua Roma. Esta iglesia como muchas otras en Roma, requiere un vestuario modesto a sus visitantes. A las mujeres no se les permite mostrar a mostrar sus hombros o rodillas, ya que se considera como una falta de respeto para la iglesia. Probablemente lo que más me gustó de esta iglesia fue la Bocca della Verita (La Boca de la Verdad), que se encuentra en el pasillo fuera de la iglesia. Según una vieja leyenda, si uno coloca su mano en la Boca y dice una mentira, la mano puede ser cortada. Me encantó visitar este lugar porque me hace pensar en cómo el paganismo y el Cristianismo se mezclaron en Roma con el paso del tiempo.

Venice - Venecia

Venice... what a place!!! For me, it is like the time stopped there some centuries ago. There are no words to describe the beauty and charming of this city. For this reason, I wasn't surprised with the high amount of tourists that I saw there. Like me, they were trying to see the glorious Venice that it has been object of inspiration for many artists. Venecia ... qué lugar! Para mí, es como si el tiempo se detuvo allí hace algunos siglos. No hay palabras para describir la belleza y el encanto de esta ciudad. Por esta razón, no me sorprendió la gran cantidad de turistas que vi allí. Al igual que yo, ellos estaban tratando de ver la gloriosa Venecia que ha sido objeto de inspiración para muchos artistas. Rome at night- Roma de noche

Rome at night was one of my favorite things on this trip. All the monuments look extremely beautiful with the special lights, and you can appreciate them in a different way. Another thing that really amazed me is the amount of people walking in Rome after 10 pm. Roma's craziness doesn't stop even if the sun goes down. I definitely suggest any tourist in Rome to go around the city during the night.... It is totally worth it!!!

Roma de noche fue una experiencia inolvidable en este viaje. Todos los monumentos se ven muy lindos, ya que son iluminados especialmente para resaltar su belleza. Otra cosa que realmente me sorprendió es la cantidad de gente que camina en Roma después de las 10 de la noche; el bullicio de Roma no cesa ni aún cuando el sol se oculta. Definitivamente todo visitante de Roma debe salir a caminar a la ciudad por la noche, vale la pena!!!
